Estimator version 2022.2.0 Feature List (Hosted)

Ability to assign multiple takeoff types to an assembly You can now tie an unlimited number of takeoff types to an assembly. This allows you to answer assembly questions using specific takeoff palette objects. For example, you can use an area takeoff to specify the area of a slab and then later use a line takeoff to answer a question looking for the length of expansion joints. View that feature here - multi-material mappings

Ability to split an assembly into multiple instances based on the sticky WBS properties Estimator now splits out assemblies when you set a new sticky WBS property value on a takeoff component tied to an assembly just like lines do. View that feature here - duplicate assembly

Ability to duplicate assemblies with multiple takeoffs Estimator now has a “Duplicate” button for the cost items which will allow you to duplicate assemblies. Assemblies whose questions are answered by one or more takeoff items will have their value set to 1 which provides a handy way to know which questions need to be given a value. View that feature here - duplicate assembly

Ability to aggregate the property values of multiple takeoff types Multiple takeoff types can now be tied to a line item or assembly. For example, you can calculate the total square feet of sheet metal for ductwork by selecting all ductwork takeoff of varying sizes and connecting the sum of the surface area to quantify a duct sheet metal item. Mapping a portion of 2D takeoff creates new materials – In support of both the traditional 2D takeoff workflows and the up-and-coming automated takeoff workflows, Estimator will allow you to select a portion of unmapped takeoff and connect it to a cost item which will then create a new material and connect the selected takeoff to that new material without affecting any of the other takeoff of the same type. View that workflow here - partial 2D mapping workflow

Ability to specify the displayed number of decimals in key areas – You can now control the number of decimal places displayed for unit prices, the total price, quantities, fee values, and productivity values. For example, $/lb of steel rebar may be more accurate by using 3 decimal places than the current default of 2 whereas you may want to show the total price of a line item as a whole dollar so instead of $1,523.345 you would see $1,523. View that feature here - decimal precision

Ability to see the sum of the selected cells in the Estimate View – You will have the ability to select multiple numeric values in the Estimate View and visually be able to see the sum of the selected cells. View that feature here - Sum cell feature

Ability to enter a percentage fee as a per dollar amount – You will have the ability to define a percentage fee based on a per dollar amount. For example, a 5% fee can be expressed at $50 per $1,000. View that feature here - fee percentage

Ability to see who last modified a cost item and when it was last modified – You will have the ability to add columns into the Estimate View enabling you to see who the last user to modify a line item was and when the modification occurred. View that feature here - last modified user.

Ability to color code which quantities are driven by takeoff vs. formulas vs. manually entered – A new preference enables you to specify not only whether you want to indicate which line item quantities were driven by takeoff or by formulas but also to indicate what color those quantities should be. For instance, you can cause the quantity cell’s background to turn green if the quantity was driven by takeoff or purple if it was driven by a formula. View that feature here - color-coded formula columns

New and improved column chooser – A new column chooser is available allowing you to search for fields directly in the chooser popup and it also has a handy check box next to each field allowing you to select multiple columns to add to the grid all at once. View that feature here - Column Choose

Improved pan for 2D drawings. No More CTRL key! – Estimator no longer requires you to hold the control key to pan the drawing. Also, the auto pan functionality has been improved and no longer moves too quickly. Additionally, auto pan is now enabled when doing fence or window selection of takeoff. View that feature here - auto panning.

New Select Mode button for 2D takeoff – You can now cancel sketching and enter select mode by clicking a new “Select Mode” button on the ribbon. View that feature here - selected mode
