1. Bid Day License Roles (User Permissions Page):
These system-wide license roles are granted on the User Permissions page. There are three license roles:
Admin
- The initial configuration of the system involves appointing a primary administrator responsible for managing the Bid Day Site.
- Can modify system settings.
- Can give permission to other people.
- Can be delegated.
- Cannot push/pull projects via Estimator integration without the Project Admin role also assigned.
- IMPORTANT: Having the Admin role does NOT automatically grant this user access to projects - a Project Admin or Contributor role is also required for project access.
NOTE: A company Admin should grant at least one other user Admin access before leaving the company. If your main Bid Day admin has left the company without granting Admin rights to anyone else, please submit a ticket to Beck Tech Support to start the process of reinstating a new admin user.
Project Admin
- Can create and delete projects.
- Can invite team members to join their projects.
- Cannot give someone admin rights.
- Can modify numerical entries on the Bid Summary page, provided the bid is not locked.
- Bid Day will create an auto note of this change.
- Can toggle alternates on and off to evaluate their effect on the bid.
Contributor
- Can access and edit Projects they are assigned to.
- Can be assigned a Bid Package to work on.
2. Project-Specific Permissions (Edit Project Page):
Project-specific Permissions are assigned at the project level, as shown on the Edit Project page above. To actively participate in a Bid Project, users must be assigned as a Project Admin or Contributor within that specific project (not just in the User Permissions page described in section 1).
- Project Admin - Has total control over the entire project.
- Contributor - Has access to make edits in projects to which they are specifically assigned. Contributors can also be assigned to work on specific Bid Packages within a project, but this does not prevent them from making changes to other Bid Packages.
Other Important Notes:
- Beck Tech cannot add Bid Day users system-wide or to specific projects. This control lies with the selected company Admin.
- It is recommended to designate additional users as either Project Admin or Contributor when creating a project to ensure they have the necessary permissions to edit the project.
- Individuals granted system-wide access to Bid Day via the User Permissions page will, at the very least, have read-only permissions for all projects within the system, but users will not be able to edit any projects if they are not assigned as a Project Admin or Contributor with a specific project.
