Why Estimates Are Duplicated in the Recent View

There a couple of possible reasons why you might see estimates showing twice in your 'Recent' view. This article will go over these causes and their solutions.

1. Database Duplication

Any estimate created in the "local" database will see its estimates duplicated with the local name and Checked Out for that estimate. This happens because the Disconnected version of Estimator was designed for the local Database to be used as your in the same manner as your Central Estimate database.

It is also possible to see duplicates if the user created two profile names for the same database, as exampled below:

In either case, to fix this issue, the user simply needs to delete the applicable database profile.

  1. From the 'Recent' view, click on the Data Source wizard icon

Click the Remove an Existing data Source Profile

Select the profile you want to remove from the drop-down > Next > Finish.

2. Template Estimate
Another possible reason for seeing duplicate estimate cards in Recent is that one of the duplicate Estimates is a template. To check for this, go to the 'Templates' view and look for an estimate of the same name as the duplicates.
To fix this, you just need to remove the 'is template' condition on the duplicate, and then delete it.
    1. Open the offending template estimate
    2. On the Home view, click on 'Estimate Properties'
    3. Uncheck the box 'Is Template'
    4. Save and close the estimate.
    5. The estimate can now be searched for in the 'Estimates' view, and deleted.
