Using the 'Update From Database' Button to Update WBS Properties in an Estimate

This article details a workflow for using the 'Update From Database' button in Estimator to update WBS Property values in an existing estimate or estimate template.

1. Confirm the WBS Property values are what is desired in DESTINI Data Manager | WBS Properties

2. In DESTINI Estimator invoke the Estimate View | WBS Properties View the Takeoff Value for the WBS Property you wish to update by selecting the ellipsis () button in the Takeoff Value cell.

3. Select the Row Header of the first value in the list, scroll down to the last value in the list, hold the Shift key down and select the Row Header of the last value in the list.

4. Select Remove Values from the Edit WBS Property Values dialog box ribbon, then press the OK NOTE: this step is important since the Add From Database command (next step) is additive, NOT replace.

NOTE: Although not a common occurrence, if the template you are updating has Line Items pre-loaded, you need to remove the pre-loaded Line Items and add re-introduce the Line Items from DESTINI Data Manager, so that the WBS Property values assigned are consistent.

5. Invoke the Update From Database command from the WBS Properties dialog box ribbon.

6. Confirm the updated values by selecting the ellipsis () button in the Takeoff Value

7. Select the OK button to close the Edit WBS Property Value dialog box.
8. Select the OK button to close the WBS Properties dialog box.
9. Save your Template or estimate.
