Error: Unable to Export the Estimate
How to fix an error when trying to export your estimate to excel
This article assists in resolving an error when attempting to export your estimate to Excel.
Error: Unable to export the estimate to excel
If you check the error logs, you will see the following message:
An error occurred while performing the export
System.ArgumentException: The MetaData object must contain available values
Resolution
This issue occurs when an estimate Project Property has been left without any value.
- Open the Estimate and navigate to the Project View
-
Look for any project properties that are blank and click the ellipses to see their available values.
-
In the Edit Estimate Property Value window, if the Estimate Property Value list is empty and the first row in the grid does not have "Remove Value" as an available option, you've found the offending property.
-
The fix is to either remove the property or add a value.
- You should now be able to export.
