Workpack: Doors, Frames, and Hardware Takeoff
A guide on completing a quantity takeoff on doors, doorframes and hardware in the standalone Workpack product
Step 1: Takeoff Zone and Door Label Template
- To begin the takeoff process, you need to set up a Takeoff Zone. Navigate to AI-Setup Mode and set up a Takeoff Zone either automatically or manually via the "+ Add…" button.
- For door label detection, create a template. Click the "+ Add…" button, choose "Door Label Template," and draw a box around any door label on the drawing. During processing, AI will identify similar labels and group doors based on these detected labels.
Step 2: Door Schedule
- To match data from a door schedule (e.g. hardware) to groups of detected doors, set up the schedule. Click the "+ Add…" button, select "Table," and draw a box around the entire schedule you wish to process. In the Table Information window that appears, choose the "Door Schedule" type. You can also add or edit the table name here. Remember to click "Save" when finished.
- Additional information on how to use schedules can be found here: How to work with Tables.
Step 3: Processing
- Now you can process the document. To do this, click the "Process" button. The "Processing Confirmation" window will open, where you can unfold each takeoff zone and select which measurements you want to be detected. You can deselect walls, windows, and rooms if you don't need those.
- If you have a lot of takeoff zones, instead of selecting the right options for all of them, you can use the three-dot menu next to the zone you have set up to apply the setting to all takeoff zones at once.
- In the "Tables" tab, you can see all the tables you have set up.
- After you are done with processing settings, you can click "Continue" and wait for results.
Step 4: Reviewing Results & Manual Editing
- You can now see detected doors and doors groups in the left panel and viewer. To see door labels, turn on the “Door Labels” filter.
- You can add and delete doors and door groups. If a door fell into a wrong door group, it can be moved to the correct one.
- If table matching didn’t work properly, please review the detected table and edit it in the “Table Settings” window to make the labels there match the names of the door groups.
- If the matching worked properly, you will see an M symbol next to the corresponding door groups.
Door Labels Without Shape
- If you have door labels without shape (text only labels) in your document, please turn on the “Door Labels Without Shape” toggle in the Properties Panel of youe takeoff zones or check this option in the “Processing Confirmation” window before you begin processing.
- That way after processing such labels (and the doors associated with them) will be sorted into groups the same way as regular ones.
