How to Reset The MFA on Your Remote Desktop Login

A guide for those who changed cellphones and can no longer authenticate MFA

If you have changed your cell phone recently, you may find that you're no longer able to authenticate your Beck Tech email login due to the MFA (multi-factor authentication) step being tied to your old phone. 

This article provides the steps to reset your MFA on your Beck Tech email, so that you can set it up again with your new phone. 

NOTE: This guide will only work if you have the same phone number. If your phone number has also changed, you will need to email support@beck-technology.com.

  1. Go to office.com
  2. Important: Log in with your Beck email (you may need to sign out of your company email first). 
  3. When prompted for MFA login, select 'I can't use my Microsoft Authenticator App right now', and select Text Message.
  4. You will receive a code via text to enter and complete login.
  5. Once signed in, click on the account initials on the upper right and select View Account:
  6. On the next screen, click on Update Info in the Security Info box.
  7. On the next screen, delete the MFA Authentication:
  8. Click Add sign-in Method and then select the method Microsoft Authenticator App. 
  9. Now you will be able to complete MFA setup again with your new phone.
