How to Log into Your License in Estimator

A comprehensive guide to signing into the license platform in DESTINI Estimator

This article will guide new users through the simple process of logging into the license platform in Estimator. If your company is new to Estimator, you will need to co-ordinate with your IT to carry out some initial configuration steps.

IMPORTANT - ALL HOSTED CLIENTS

DO NOT use the long Beck email ending in @client-becktecnology.com. This email is for Windows App / Remote Desktop login only, and will not work for licensing.

Two Ways to Log In

There are two ways to sign into the license platform in Estimator. It's important to understand that this is not a user choice - users must sign in via the method that their company is configured for. If you're unsure, ask a colleague or manager.

  1. Via Active Directory (AD) - Recommended
    • The vast majority of clients will use method 1 - sign in via Active Directory. This system uses your company's own credentials to authenticate you - meaning that the same email and password used to log into your work computer and email will work here. Click here to skip down to AD sign in instructions
  2. Via a dedicated DESTINI Account
    • Companies that do not use Azure Active Directory or do not wish to configure theirs to work with Estimator will instead use method 1 - sign in with a DESTINI Account. This requires users to run through a one-time setup process, as detailed below. Click here to skip down to DESTINI Account sign in instructions

Important Notes

  • The above methods are not user choice. Active Directory-enabled users must use the Active Directory method.
  • Licensing in Estimator is tied to your company email domain - you must use your company email to get a license. Importantly...
  • ...Hosted clients: DO NOT use the long Beck email ending in @client-becktecnology.com. This email is for Windows App / Remote Desktop login only, and will not work for licensing.
  • Method 1 Active Directory password resets are handled by your IT department. Beck Tech does not control AD login credentials.
  • Method 2 DESTINI Account users can reset their password manually. Click here for password reset instructions.

Video

Below is a video demonstration of the license login process. Below that are written instructions to follow for both methods.

Method 1 - Active Directory Login Steps

1. When Estimator launches, the License window should pop up automatically. Click the Active Directory button.

2. On the next page, enter your Company email address and click the Next button.

VERY IMPORTANT: If you are a Hosted client, DO NOT use the long Beck email ending in @client-becktecnology.com. This email is for Windows App / Remote Desktop login only, and will not work for licensing.

3. Enter your company password and click Sign in

NOTE: If you get a message that the Active Directory or Single Sign On "is Disabled" or "We can't seem to find your Account", then you likely need to use Method 2 - Sign in with your DESTINI Account.

4. If your company enforces any form of two-factor authentication, complete the necessary steps to approve the sign in (this process can be different for every company so we cannot show specifics for this step - contact your IT department if you get stuck).

5. First time users will get the following prompt. Click Accept to continue. If you don't get this prompt, continue to the next step.

6. Check the 'Don't show this again' box. This will allow you to sign in less often on app launch.

Method 2 - Sign in With Your DESTINI Account - First Time Setup

To sign in with a DESTINI Account, first time users are required to set this account up. This only needs to be done once.

Note that Method 2 - Sign in with a DESTINI Account - is typically only for users who cannot sign in via Active Directory, or are participating in a trial of Estimator. If your company is configured for Active Directory login, this method will not work.

Here are the steps to set up your DESTINI Account:

1. In the License Window, click the Sign up Now link at the bottom.

2. On the screen below, enter your work email address and click the SEND VERIFICATION CODE buttonThis will deploy an email to you containing a verification code.

3. While you wait for that email to arrive, you can move on with filling out the New Password, Confirm New Password, and Name fields as required.

4. Retrieve the email generated earlier, and copy the verification code within.

5. Enter the verification code from that email into the Verification Code field in the license window, and click VERIFY CODE.

6. Notice that the Create button will transition from a grey inactive state to a blue active one. Verify all the information is correct, and then click the Create button.

4. Upon successful account creation, you will be taken back to the License Sign in window. Sign in with the credentials that you just created. This will be how you will always get a license.

Resetting your Password - Method 2 DESTINI Accounts ONLY

Users who sign in via method 2 - a DESTINI Account - are able to manually reset their password, as per the steps below.

NOTE: Active Directory users will need to contact their IT department for password assistance. Beck Tech does not control Active Directory credentials.

  1. In the License window, click the Forgot your password? link.

  2. Enter your Company's email and click SEND VERIFICATION CODE. This will deploy an email containing said verification code.

  3. Retrieve the email containing the verification code.

  4. Enter the Verification code into the License window and click VERIFY CODE

  5. Click CONTINUE.
  6. Create and confirm a new password and click CONTINUE

  7. Upon successful password creation, you will see confirmation in Estimator. Click OK.
  8. You should now be automatically signed into your license.
