How To Complete a Back Out in 2D Takeoff

Here is how to complete backout using the line feature or the curve feature in Estimator 2D takeoff:

Notes:

  • If you complete a backout and the space is empty, you cannot use the "Apply Item" button to fill in new material. You must have a takeoff drawn to use the Apply Item button. This feature is in our backlog.

  • If you have an area takeoff positioned on top of another takeoff, you may not be able to complete the backout process. To resolve this, move one of the takeoffs to a different location, complete the backout, and then move the underlying takeoff back to its original location.

Example: If Area Takeoff B is placed directly on top of Area Takeoff A, the backout operation may fail because the two takeoffs overlap. Move Area Takeoff B to a temporary location, perform the backout on Area Takeoff A, and then move Area Takeoff B back to its original position once the backout is complete.
