How Distributed Fees Work in Estimator

Grand Total Cost is now replaced with Burdened Total Cost in the Estimate View. Each Cost category also now shows the Distributed Cost for that specific category.

Why are my distributed fees not calculating correctly per line Item?

In the screenshot example above, these are the numbers for the line item:

Total Aggregate cost = $3700.41

Burdened Total Cost = $3752.94

Total Distributed fees =$60142.16

Cost Distribion to the Material Cost = 5.50%

Based on the data, you will expect that the Total Aggregate Cost X the Cost Distribution = Grand Total Cost = $3700.42 X 5.50% = $3903.93

So why does the Grand Total Cost = $3752.94 instead of $3903.93?

It's important to keep in mind that when dealing with distributed fees, the percentage fee may not necessarily be exact for each line item in the estimate view. While it is possible for the total cost to match up, the fee is based on the Total Material Cost (quantity * material price) and is distributed only to line items that have a material price. Therefore, if any line items have cost other than material, the distributed amount for all included line items will be affected. It's important to note that the Material Price is not the only factor being considered when calculating the distribution amount, and the distribution window only specifies which line items are to be included in the distribution.
