An Overview of Bid Day User Roles and Permissions

Important Notes

  • Beck Tech cannot add Bid Day users system-wide or to specific projects.
  • It is recommended to designate additional users as either Project Admin or Contributor when creating a project to ensure they have the necessary permissions to edit the project.
  • Individuals granted access to Bid Day will, at the very least, have read-only permissions for all projects within the system, but will not be able to edit any projects if they are not a Project Admin or Contributor on a specific project
    • For instance, both you and I hold the roles of "admin," "contributor," and "project admin." Since I set up the Project as the Project admin, you won’t be able to make any edits unless I designate you as a "contributor" or "project Admin" for that project.
There are two distinct levels of permissions: system-wide and project-specific. To actively participate in a Bid Project, users must hold one of two roles: either a project admin or a contributor assigned to that specific project.

System-Wide

Project Specific Role

Admin

  • The initial configuration of the system involves appointing a primary administrator responsible for managing the Bid Day Site.
  • Can modify system settings.
  • Can give permission to other people.
  • Can be delegated.

Project Admin

  • Can create and delete projects.
  • Can invite team members to join their projects.
  • Cannot give someone admin rights.
  • Can modify numerical entries on the Bid Summary page, provided the bid is not locked.
    • Bid Day will create an auto note of this change.
    • Can toggle alternates on and off to evaluate their effect on the bid.

Contributor

  • Can access and edit Projects they are assigned to.
  • Can be assigned a Bid Package to work on.
