Information and links needed to correctly upgrade your existing suite of DESTINI products to the latest version
Scope
Are you looking to upgrade your DESTINI products to the latest version? Look no further! Here is all the information and links you need to get started. The following steps are the current standard and will enable the latest versions of each application to connect to the centralized databases. After running the upgrade scripts, you will be able to connect to the respective database.
Here is the current standard upgrade order to follow:
- Upgrade/Verify the databases on the centralized server
- Upgrade Data Manager Application if applicable
- Upgrade Estimator
Things to know prior to upgrading
- It is highly recommend that you make a backup copy of the Projects databases before performing an upgrade.
- During the application upgrade of Data Manager/Estimator, the settings are retained so there is no need to uninstall an older version or recreate connection profiles.
- During the Data Manager upgrade using the wizard, a step will ask to Upgrade Existing Databases or Install Databases. Always click the Upgrade Existing Databases (Just follow the wizard default values. If there are any pop-up boxes about DPUser not getting added, click OK and continue).
- The silent install command-line argument will also upgrade each application
- If Data Manager is not installed on the user’s computer, then you have to configure Estimator to not connect to the local Projects database on launch or you will get the Disconnected Workflow warning message. Those steps can be found here - update the Estimator config file.
- The new licensing steps can be found here if needed - Web License Access
DESTINI Suite Upgrade Steps
1. Upgrading Centralized Databases
Very Important - The project database (DESTINIData) will always need to be upgraded or verified prior to upgrading Estimator. This is the first step in the upgrade process.
Only clients that are NOT on Estimator/Data Manager 2022+ will need to upgrade their Cost databases. So if your versions are 2019 or 2018 you will need to upgrade the cost database.
2. Upgrading DESTINI Data Manager
Very Important - The Data Manager upgrade is only needed for users that have and use Data Manager. If a user doesn’t require Data Manager, or the users already have the latest version below, please skip this step.
Download the Applications from the Software Download Center link.
3. Upgrading DESTINI Estimator
The final step is to upgrade DESTINI Estimator on the users' computers.
Download the Applications from the Software Download Center link.
