Workpack: Redraw Rooms by Walls
What is the ‘Redraw Rooms by Walls’ Feature?
- It gives users the ability to draw or redraw Room Areas using existing Walls.
- The feature has two major use cases:
-
Add Walls from scratch and then get the Rooms using the feature:
-
Get Walls from AI processing, then edit them and update the Rooms:
-
How to Redraw the Rooms
-
Make sure that all Walls of the selected Takeoff Zone are properly connected to each other:
-
By default, if Walls are connected, they show active open locks:
-
It doesn’t matter if locks are open or closed
-
Be careful - not all Walls that look connected are connected:
-
Fix all required connections using the Snap-To-Points mode:
-
-
When all Walls in a Takeoff Zone are ready, click on ‘…’ next to the Rooms node in the left panel, then click on Re-process all Rooms. If the Rooms node is absent, switch it on in Filters:
-
The Re-processing Confirmation window opens, confirming that all Rooms will be redrawn:
-
Click Re-process and wait for the Rooms to be pulled from the server:
-
Ready — brand new Rooms are drawn over existing Walls, ready to check and edit.
Important Notes
-
All Rooms in the selected Takeoff Zone will be redrawn during Room re-processing — this means all rooms that were edited or added since last processing will be wiped out before getting new Rooms.
-
Room Groups added before using Rooms re-drawing will be removed.
-
If there were no Room Labels before using Rooms Re-drawing, all new Rooms will go to an ‘Unlabeled’ group.
-
If Room Labels were present before using the feature, Rooms will be matched to Room Labels. How that works:
-
If a Room contains some Room Label symbol inside, it will be placed in the Group with the name defined by the text of this symbol:
-
If a Room includes two or more Room Label symbols or none of them, it will go to the Unlabeled group:
