Workpack: Grouping Mode Overview

Grouping Mode in Workpack is designed to help users more easily review and verify the accuracy of a particular group of measurements/takeoff objects, and quickly make edits where necessary.

There are three ways to activate Grouping mode. Click on the group you want to edit and then:

  1. Press CTRL + G on your keyboard.
  2. Hit the Grouping mode button in the context menu at the top of the viewer:
  3. Hit the ellipses menu button next to the group's title in the left panel, then click on Grouping mode.

As soon as you activate Grouping mode, the measurements that already belong to the current group will be highlighted in yellow. The other objects of the same type will be marked with a blue, near-transparent fill.

However, hovering over them makes them turn solid blue, which means they are available to be added to the current group.

To escape Grouping mode, press Esc button on the keyboard, or switch to another work mode. You can also hit the Grouping Mode button again deactivate Grouping Mode.

How to use Grouping Mode

Grouping Mode makes sorting measurements by groups significantly easier.

So, you selected a custom group of walls and entered Grouping Mode. Try doing this:

  1. Add a measurement to the current group: Move the mouse pointer over any measurement filled with light blue. As soon as the measurement turns deep blue, click, and it will be added to the selected group.

  2. Remove measurements from the current group: Choose any measurement with bright yellow fill and double-click it. Measurement removed from the current group are placed in the Unlabeled group.

  3. Select measurements: Click on any measurement that belong to the current group to select it. Press and hold CTRL key to select multiple measurements.

  4. Deleting objects: Select an object and press DEL button on a keyboard. You can also open the context menu by right-clicking selected measurements and selecting the Delete option. In Grouping mode you can only delete measurements of the same type as other measurements in the current group.

  5. Create a new measurement: Press the SPACE key and click on the drawing to start adding a new measurement (NOTE: Do not hold the SPACE key, as it may switch off the Grouping mode and open the Add menu).

    • You can manage adding settings as Click-by-Click and Snap-to-Point modes in the contextual menu.

  6. Moving measurements: Click on the measurement and drag it. You can also select multiple measurements by holding CTRL and dragging them. Only measurements belonging to the current group can be dragged.
