What is DESTINI Takeoff?
Following Beck Technology's acquisition of Workpack.ai in March 2025, the platform was rebranded as DESTINI Takeoff.
DESTINI Takeoff is an AI-powered takeoff solution that automatically detects and classifies objects in construction drawings across multiple trades. The platform helps estimators generate and modify quantity takeoffs faster and more efficiently through AI-assisted workflows.
Key Features and Capabilities
AI-Assisted Takeoff
- Symbol & Object Recognition: Leverage AI algorithms to detect, count, and outline repeated symbols, fixtures, rooms, and areas across drawing sheets.
- Group & Item Mapping: Review and map AI-detected takeoff groups and items directly to standard project conditions.
- Interactive Review Workflow: Review, adjust, accept, or discard AI suggestions before committing quantities to the estimate.
2D Takeoff & Measurement Tools
- Multi-Type Measurements: Perform precise takeoffs across standard measurement types, including Linear (lengths and perimeters), Area, Count (items and fixtures), and Volume/Wall Area calculations.
- Flexible Drawing Tools: Draw polygons, rectangles, arcs, and continuous lines with snap-to-point and crosshair navigation.
- Visual Styling & Patterns: Assign distinct colors and hatch patterns to conditions and area takeoffs for clear visual differentiation across dense plan sheets.
- Measurement Editing: Move, resize, delete, split, or merge individual takeoff shapes, or reassign existing takeoff geometry to different conditions.
Condition Management & Classification
- Hierarchical Condition Folders: Organize conditions into multi-level folders and categories for structured navigation.
- Dynamic Condition Properties: Configure custom parameters (height, depth, thickness, waste factors, and slope) to calculate derived quantities automatically.
- Condition Operations: Split complex conditions, merge related ones, and leverage robust undo/redo capabilities across condition workflows.
- Whole-Document Condition Summaries: Aggregate and view quantities across the entire sheet set, by category, or filtered by specific drawing pages.
Drawing Set Management, Overlays & Versioning
- Drawing Set Organization: Upload, organize, and navigate multi-page PDF document sets with automatic sheet indexing and document source tracking.
- Sheet Overlays & Visual Comparison: Compare drawing revisions side-by-side or stacked using color-coded overlays to quickly spot design additions, deletions, and scope changes.
- Takeoff Transfer: Transfer existing conditions and takeoff geometry to updated drawing sets and new design revisions.
DESTINI Estimator Integration
- Embedded Takeoff Workspace: Access takeoff directly inside DESTINI Estimator with responsive docking or multi-monitor pop-out support.
- Live Bi-Directional Synchronization: Link takeoff conditions directly to estimate line items and assemblies, ensuring real-time cost and quantity alignment.
- WBS Property Integration: Map Work Breakdown Structure properties between Estimator and Takeoff. Line items automatically split or group based on assigned WBS classifications.
- Condition-to-Cost Mapping: Automatically update estimate line item quantities when underlying takeoff shapes are added, resized, or removed.
Collaboration, Administration & Platform Settings
- Project Sharing & Defaults: Share projects across teams with configurable company-wide sharing defaults and project copying capabilities.
- State Persistence: Retain active drawing sheets, zoom levels, open tabs, and filter states across browser refreshes and application sessions.
- Unit of Measure Flexibility: Comprehensive support for Imperial and Metric measurement systems, including real-world dimension inputs.
- User & Workspace Controls: Dedicated user access, role assignments, and license management across standalone and embedded environments.
