How to Turn off Cost/Unit Summaries in a Cloud Report

Cloud Reports have built-in Cost/Unit Summary using either overline quantity or project property. If an overline does not exist, the report automatically uses the project property parameter for the Cost/Unit. By default, all Cost/Unit Summaries on the Executive Summary are printed.

This article will show you how to turn off (remove) the Executive Summary’s Fees and Totals Cost/Unit Summaries at runtime and change the parameter’s default value.

Turn off Cost/Unit Summaries at Runtime

  1. Inside DESTINI Cloud: Estimator, run your report.
  2. When the Report Previewer window opens, locate the Parameters panel on the left side of your screen.
  3. Expand the Cost/Unit Summaries group.
  4. Click inside the Included Cost/Unit Summaries parameter and deselect Executive Summary Totals and Fees. Click OK to close the drop-down menu.
  5. Click the Submit button at the bottom of the Parameters window.

The Executive Summary Totals option displays Cost/Unit values for Base Estimate Direct Cost, Indirect Cost, Total Cost, Alternates, and Project Total Cost. The Fees option shows Cost/Unit values for the individual fee rows. The Level 1 Group option displays Cost/Unit values for Level 1 WBS Property Groupings in both the Executive Summary and Line Item Details.

Update the Parameter’s Default Value

  1. Open the Report Designer
    1. In DESTINI Cloud: Estimator, open an Estimate (any estimate, it doesn’t matter which).
    2. Navigate to the Home View
    3. In the main Ribbon, click on New Report…
    4. Report Designer will be launched
  2. In the Report Designer, open your report template file
    1. Click the Open button
    2. Navigate to the location of the report template file (.repx) that you want to modify
  3. On the right side of your screen, open the Field List
    1. Locate the Report Explorer on the right side of the screen
    2. Using the tabs, switch to the Field List
  4. At the bottom of the Field List, expand Parameters and select IncludedCostPerUnitSummaries

    5.  On the bottom right side of your screen, locate the Properties panel.

    6.  Inside the Value field, remove all contents and set as Level 1 Group

    7.  Press the Enter key on your keyboard.
