DESTINI Takeoff Version 1.9 Release Notes

DESTINI Takeoff 1.9 expands condition import support to include On-Screen Takeoff (.ost) XML files alongside Excel spreadsheets and resolves a critical measurement scale error when switching unit systems. This release also introduces Casework data persistence during document import/export operations and delivers stability and performance fixes across Takeoff Zones, WBS property assignments, Casework elevations, and large document uploads.

New Features & Enhancements

Support for On-Screen Takeoff (.ost) Condition Imports: In addition to Excel (.xlsx) spreadsheets, you can now import condition libraries directly from On-Screen Takeoff XML (.ost) files into Takeoff. (DC-8610)

Casework Data Preservation in Imports, Exports & Document Copies: Casework definitions and associations are now preserved when exporting/importing data or copying documents across projects. (DC-8714)

Takeoff Zones & Properties

  • Takeoff Zone Synchronization: Fixed an issue where Takeoff Zones created in the Conditions tab did not display their names when switching to the AI Takeoff tab. (DC-8327, DC-8373)

  • WBS Property Assignments: Resolved issues that prevented WBS properties from being added to common zones and fixed property assignment errors during the new Takeoff Zones workflow. (DC-8379, DC-8425)

  • Properties Panel Field Visibility: Selecting a condition no longer causes fields in the Properties Panel to disappear. (DC-8329)

  • Zone Deletion & Restoration: Corrected text in the Takeoff Zone deletion confirmation dialog and resolved inconsistent behavior when restoring deleted zones. (DC-8362, DC-8375)

  • Legacy Zone Settings Cleanup: Removed unused detection toggles (Detect Area Patterns and Detect Doors without Labels) from Takeoff Zone properties. (DC-8394)

  • Takeoff Zone Creation Edge Cases: Addressed several edge-case errors encountered when drawing and saving new Takeoff Zones. (DC-8399, DC-8483)

Measurements, Scaling & Exports

  • Measurement System Scale Factor: Resolved an issue where switching between Imperial and Metric measurement systems caused drawing scale calibrations to decrease twelvefold. (DC-8365, DC-8424)

  • Excel Export Error (500): Fixed a server error that occurred when exporting takeoff measurements and data to Excel. (DC-8367)

  • Condition Import Conversions: Fixed conversion errors that caused failures when importing condition files. (DC-8350)

Casework

  • Room Naming & Decoding: Fixed room names encoded in Base64 so they decode and display properly (DC-8418), and resolved an issue where rooms transferred from Takeoff were assigned identical default names (DC-8484).

  • Elevation Matching Workflow: Enhanced the workflow for matching processed elevations to rooms with clearer empty-state messaging and accurate suggested cabinet counts in the properties panel. (DC-8381)

  • Elevation Processing: Fixed an issue where processing selected elevation sheets failed to initiate. (DC-8349)

  • Bounding Boxes & Callouts: Resolved bounding box placement and selection bugs when adding callouts (DC-8332) and editing rooms/elevations (DC-8343).

  • Thumbnail Display & Link Expiry: Fixed elevation image thumbnails being cropped and resolved expiring access keys on elevation images. (DC-8369, DC-8372)

Canvas UI & Viewer

  • AI Annotations Error (500): Resolved a server error that occurred when drawing annotations in AI mode on newly uploaded drawing sets. (DC-8449)

  • Interface Alignment & Numbering: Corrected progress tray alignment issues and left-panel node numbering glitches. (DC-8346, DC-8377)

Behind the Scenes & Reliability

  • Large Document & Revision Handling: Shifted overlay rendering results from Redis cache to cloud file storage across .NET and Python services, preventing upload hangs and timeouts when uploading large document sets and revisions. (DC-8555, DC-8642)

  • Service Scalability & Performance: Scaled up database and Redis capacity to improve response times during peak usage (DC-8572) and allocated additional Kubernetes memory resources for automated page classification (DC-8577).

  • Infrastructure & Monitoring: Upgraded Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) node images (DC-8662), scheduled automated GPU node scaling (DC-8670), repaired the Power BI analytics ingestion pipeline (DC-8671), and prepared Docker base images for .NET 10 (DC-8543).

  • Dependency & Security Remediation: Conducted Python microservice dependency audits and removed unneeded pinned transitive dependencies to allow security patches to resolve automatically. (DC-8726, DC-8729, DC-8730)

  • Annotation Undo: Undo step sequence for drawings vs. annotations. (DC-8412)

  • Crosshair Disappearing on Square Count: Crosshair visibility on the first square count. (DC-8345)

  • Backout Area Calculation for Zero Perimeter: Backout area calculations broken (zero perimeter case) (DC-8353)

  • Detailed Overlays 404: Hotfix: Detailed Overlays are not returned for some pages (DC-8383)
