General Availability Questions

Which features will be live when DESTINI Cloud is generally available?

    • Core estimating functions
    • Embedded Power BI
    • Rate tables and resources
    • Bid Day integration
    • Initial APIs
    • Continued Self Perform development

Will all features from the old version (Legacy) be available on day one?

Many will be available, but not all. Customers are migrated only once their critical workflows are supported. Some advanced or niche workflows may be delivered post migration as part of ongoing releases.

Migration Questions

Do we have to migrate to DESTINI Cloud?

Yes, because of the benefits mentioned earlier, our primary development and support strategies going forward focus on DESTINI Cloud. Beck Technology will help you migrate to the cloud when the required functionality for your workflows is available in the product. Migrations are timed to minimize disruption.

How do we start migrating?

We’re migrating customers in phases, so you’ll have the necessary time and attention for a smooth transition. We’ll contact your champion two months prior to your go-live date to review and collect your deliverables and get you set up in test environment. After you've signed your contract and verified your rebuilt deliverables, we'll migrate your data over to production.

To expedite the process, please return your new contract. Returning the contract ensures we can securely move your data to production and get you running in DESTINI Cloud. This checklist can guide you through each step of the process.

What are the phases of DESTINI Cloud onboarding?

  • Phase 1: Core estimating functions only

  • Phase 2: DESTINI Takeoff onboarding once functionality is released

We may move you into Phase 2 after their initial cloud go-live depending on timing and readiness.

What happens 2 months prior to migration?

    • Customer kickoff meeting
    • Identify your core migration team
    • Inventory reports and deliverables
    • Create initial testing plan
    • Create plan for training

What happens 4 - 6 weeks prior to migration?

    • Create detailed migration plan
    • Validate reports and workflows
    • Perform ongoing testing
    • Meet weekly to confirm readiness and surface risks early.

What data migrates automatically?

Core estimating data. Also note, cost database access remains the same.

What doesn’t migrate automatically?

The following deliverables must be rebuilt:

    • Reports
    • Dashboards
    • Data-connected Excel reports (not Estimate View Excel Reports)
    • Power BI reports file

Why do reports and dashboards need to be rebuilt?

Compared to the Legacy software, DESTINI Cloud uses a more modern data and reporting architecture. Rebuilding ensures performance, consistency, and long-term scalability.

Where is my company data? I don’t see my estimates and templates.

During the private preview you have access to a sandbox that is data we've curated. You do not have access to your data at this time. Once we go through migration with your company, your data will be moved over to DESTINI Cloud.

When will DESTINI Takeoff be available for migrated customers?

Current plans target July for DESTINI Takeoff onboarding, though this may occur earlier depending on development and release readiness.

What training is provided as part of migration?

    • New cloud-specific training content
    • Role-based training for estimators, managers, and administrators
    • Learning support before and after go-live

Is training required before going live?

Yes. We strongly recommend completing training before migrating so teams are productive on day one and experience fewer issues after go-live.

What happens on migration day?

    • You start using DESTINI Cloud
    • The Legacy environment is no longer your primary system of record
    • The migration team performs immediate validation checks

What post migration validation occurs?

    • Estimates are verified
    • Reporting outputs are confirmed
    • User access is validated
    • Issues and resolutions are logged

What level of support is provided after migration?

    • Ongoing customer support
    • Continued training reinforcement
    • Regular check-ins to ensure adoption and success

Report Questions

Will standard Beck Tech reports be available to use and customize as needed?

Yes. Standard reports are available. We’re also publishing Help Center articles to show you how to customize them. As we review your reports, we’ll add more articles to cover details not included in the standard versions. We’ve also improved the standard reports and will continue updating them as the product evolves.

Will standard Beck Tech Power BI reports be available to use and customize? Can we also create and upload our own custom reports?

We’re developing several ways for you to access DESTINI Cloud data, including APIs, direct table access, and Embedded Power BI built on a semantic model. We’re also creating standard reports and will support embedding your own reports in DESTINI Cloud. Check the Reports & Analytics section of the Help Center for updates.

Cost Database Questions

The Cost Database window is blank, and the 'Connect to Cost Database' option is greyed out for me. How can I get the Cost Database connected?

The Cost Database, which is managed by Beck Tech, is already connected. You see a blank Cost Database View because Active Groupings aren’t set by default. Click the Silver gear to open the Configure Grouping window and then use the blue arrows to move your preferred groupings over to the Active Group Items list.

How do I access an updated Cost Database in the Estimate?

In DESTINI Cloud, the cost database in an estimate is a snapshot of the data in Data Manager. A future update will let you refresh the Cost Database connection and update estimate costs from within the estimate.

Feature Parity Questions

I created a percentage-based fee in the Fee Table. Can I change it to Lump Sum or do I have to delete the old fee and replace it with a new one?

The existing fee will need to be removed and a new one added. Due to the complex nature of fees and their respective calculations, once a fee type is set, it cannot be changed. If it's a matter of experimenting with the different types of fees, you can just disable one and add the new type to test if it fits your needs. This makes it easier to revert to the previous fee if you change your mind.

Where is the Comparison view/tab?

Comparison is now part of the Dashboard. Select the estimate you want to compare in the Dashboard ribbon. Looking for additional guidance? Check out the Quick Start Lesson.

Where is the IsTemplate? button

This functionality is not in DESTINI Cloud yet. We are working to incorporate that feature soon.
