DESTINI Cloud FAQ

Answers to common questions from DESTINI Cloud users

This FAQ is a work-in-progress to account for some of the technical questions pertinent to DESTINI Cloud. More questions and answers will be added over time to provide a more comprehensive guide to the new Cloud platform. Some of your questions may be answered in our Quick Start lesson, too. We encourage you to check it out!

1. How do we start migration?

Our team is phasing migration so that we can give your team the time and attention they deserve. We will contact your champion 2 months prior to your go-live date, so we can collect your deliverables for review and get you testing in the environment. Once the new contract is signed and you've verified your re-built deliverables, we'll migrate your data over to production.

One of the biggest things you can do to help move migration along is to return the new contract. This will ensure that we can securely move your data over to the Production environment and get you off and running in DESTINI Cloud. We have a checklist to help you through each step of the process.

2. Will there be standard Beck Tech reports available for use and adjustment as needed?

Yes, there are standard reports available. We are writing articles and posting them in this Help Center to help you customize your reports. New articles will be published as we assess your  reports, so that you can customize the finer details that are not captured in our standard reports. We have greatly improved our standard reports, and our hope is that you will find a lot of value in them. We will update them as the product is enhanced, so you will always be able access the latest and greatest functionality by using the standards.

3. Will there be standard Beck Tech Power BI reports available for use and adjustment as needed? And secondly, will we be able to create and upload our own custom reports?

Exciting news! We are working on several options for you to access DESTINI Cloud data including APIs, Direct Access to tables, and DESTINI Cloud: Embedded Power BI built on a Semantic model. We are building standard reports and will also be able to embed your reports into DESTINI Cloud. Keep an eye on the Reports & Analytics category in the Help Center for the latest news.

4. For the Fee Table - if you originally create a fee that is percentage-based, will you be able to change it to Lump Sum? Or would you have to delete the old fee and add a new replacement fee?

The existing fee will need to be removed and a new one added. Due to the complex nature of fees and their respective calculations, once a fee type is set, it cannot be changed. If it's a matter of experimenting with the different types of fees, you can just disable one and add the new type to test if it fits your need. This makes it easier to revert back to the previous fee if you change your mind.

5. Where is my company data? I do not see my estimates and templates?

During the private preview you have access to a sandbox that is data we've curated. You do not have access to your data at this time. Once we go through migration with your company, your data will be moved over to DESTINI Cloud.

6. The Cost Database window is blank, and the 'Connect to Cost Database' option is greyed out for me. How can I get the Cost Database connected?

Good news! The Costs Database is already connected (this is managed by Beck Tech). The reason you're seeing a blank Cost Database View is that there are no Active Groupings set by default. Click on the Silver gear to open the Configure Grouping window, and then use the blue arrows move your preferred groupings over to the Active Group Items list

7. Where is the Comparison view/tab?

Comparison is now part of the Dashboard. Select the estimate you want to compare in the Dashboard ribbon. Looking for additional guidance? Check out the Quick Start Lesson.

8. Where is the IsTemplate? button

This functionality is not in DESTINI Cloud yet. We will be working to incorporate that feature soon.

9.  How do I access an updated Cost Database in the Estimate?

We have a new concept in DESTINI Cloud where the cost database in the estimate is a snapshot of what lives in Data Manager. A feature is coming where the Cost Database connection may be refreshed and the estimate cost may be updated from the Cost Database within the Estimate.
