DESTINI Cloud Estimator Version 1.6.0 Release Notes

DESTINI Cloud Estimator version 1.6.0 introduces standardized Fee Categories for cross-estimate historical cost analysis, enforces Cost Library governance over locked and hierarchical WBS properties, and migrates legacy self-perform crews and resources directly into DESTINI Cloud. This release also upgrades the platform to .NET 10, exposes Line Item Units of Measure in the Cloud API, and resolves critical issues around multi-user assembly selection, formula string parsing, grid responsiveness, and international number formatting.

What's New & Enhancements

  • Standardized Fee Categorization: Fees can now be assigned specific categories so they are classified consistently across all estimates regardless of how individual fees are named, enabling structured reporting, comparison, and historical cost benchmarking (DC-2660).
  • Cost Library WBS Property Governance: WBS properties defined in the Cost Library now retain their locked state within individual estimates, preventing unauthorized renaming, deletion, or structural modifications to company classification standards (DC-4826, DC-7643).
  • Hierarchical WBS Rules & Snapshot Sync: WBS properties designated as hierarchical in the Cost Library are prevented from being Takeoff-enabled. When updating estimate Cost Library snapshots, deleted properties automatically convert to estimate-defined properties to protect existing data, and newly introduced hierarchy conflicts automatically clear Takeoff enablement with full audit log tracking (DC-7643, DC-7644).
  • Self-Perform Crews & Resource Migration: Legacy self-perform setups now migrate smoothly into DESTINI Cloud. The migration extracts and deduplicates labor and equipment resources, standardizes time units, consolidates crews that share identical productivity rates, assigns deterministic estimate-level codes, and introduces rate-aware cost database crew binding (DC-6178, DC-6180, DC-6181).
  • Line Item Units of Measure in Cloud API: The DESTINI Cloud API now returns each line item's Unit of Measure, ensuring external reporting tools, integrations, and partner applications maintain unit parity with the desktop interface (DC-7260).

Improvements & Bug Fixes

Estimate Grid & Cost Information View (CIV)

  • Application Freezing on Edits: Resolved an issue where editing quantities and cost categories directly within the estimate grid could freeze the application (DC-7808).
  • Multi-User Assembly Overwrites in CIV: Fixed a concurrency issue where committing an assembly from another active user unexpectedly reloaded the CIV and replaced the current user's active assembly selection (DC-7489).
  • Checkbox Cell Activation: Clicking anywhere inside a TRUE/FALSE WBS cell now updates the checkbox value as expected, rather than requiring a click directly within the box (DC-7762).
  • Line Item Creation Reliability: Addressed an intermittent failure when adding new line items to an open estimate (DC-6880).
  • Pre-Addition WBS Indicators: Locked WBS property icons now appear immediately in the CIV for cost database line items before they are added to the estimate (DC-7795).
  • Cross-Estimate Line Item Copying: Fixed an issue where copying line items containing both takeoff and rate tables between estimates could corrupt the target estimate (DC-8812).

Fees & Dashboard Reporting

  • Base Fee Calculations with Active Filters: Resolved a calculation error where base fees returned incorrect values when filter configurations were applied (DC-6036).
  • Fee Editor Category Selection: Corrected dropdown behavior in the Fee Editor so fee categories can be selected with a single click (DC-7556).
  • Cost Library Snapshot Propagation: Fixed a delay where updated fee details and category names from Cost Library snapshots were not immediately reflected in the Fee Editor or Dashboard fee sheets (DC-7550, DC-7573).
  • Alternate Fee Categories in Dashboards: Fixed missing fee categories on Dashboard alternate fee sheets for alternates configured with custom fee types (DC-7572).
  • Fee Addition Stability: Resolved an application error encountered when adding new fees in the Fee Editor (DC-7605).

Calculations & International Formatting

  • Formula String Parsing: Fixed formula parsing behavior so string literals not preceded by mathematical operators are no longer misidentified as variables (DC-7662).
  • International Number Formatting: Resolved an issue where English numeric notation was improperly treated as variable names on systems using French or international regional settings (DC-8850, DC-8868).

Navigation, Versioning & Sessions

  • Sign-Out Responsiveness: Fixed an issue where clicking Sign Out from the title bar user avatar menu was unresponsive while an estimate was open (DC-5750, DC-7790).
  • Estimate Version Display Names: Resolved a display glitch where estimate version names temporarily appeared as raw GUID strings instead of user-assigned names (DC-7711).
  • Start Card & API Trigger on Versioning: Fixed an issue where creating an estimate version failed to recalculate start cards or trigger the API export pipeline (DC-7793).
  • Transient Network Handling: Improved connection resilience during momentary network interruptions so users are not prematurely forced back to the login screen (DC-8968).

Behind the Scenes, Performance & Reliability

  • .NET 10 Framework Upgrade: Upgraded both the desktop frontend client and backend services to .NET 10 LTS, improving runtime execution speed, memory handling, and WPF UI responsiveness (DC-2069, DC-7579).
  • Large Estimate Operations & Opening Speed: Optimized event-replay handling when opening estimates with extensive change histories (DC-7704) and streamlined copying routines for very large estimates (DC-7705).
  • Estimate Grid Binding Cleanup: Removed obsolete UI data bindings in the estimate grid to eliminate unnecessary background errors and improve rendering performance (DC-7707).
  • Database Query & EventStore Optimization: Configured explicit SQL Server providers and converted synchronous execution chains to asynchronous calls following database layer updates, eliminating reflection overhead (DC-7673, DC-7660).
  • Migrator Data Streaming: Switched estimate plugin serialization reads to sequential access, eliminating duplicate buffered round trips across the network during legacy estimate migration (DC-7674).
  • Migration Accuracy Fixes: Prevented invalid legacy fees from being restored during migration (DC-7715) and corrected takeoff mapped quantities to read original quantities rather than transformed fields (DC-7718).
  • Diagnostics & Support Observability: Added automatic logging enrichment that stamps estimate IDs, branch names, and version names on every client log row, accompanied by a 5-minute health heartbeat recording CPU, memory utilization, and uptime to accelerate support investigations (DC-8810).
  • Takeoff Domain Harmonization: Updated embedded takeoff integration endpoints across staging and UAT environments to point to destinitakeoff.com (DC-7555).
  • Build & Pipeline Hygiene: Ensured data migration failures immediately stop the automated deployment pipeline (DC-7927), cleaned up dead resource API code and unused RestSharp dependencies (DC-7653), and unified WBS validation models (DC-1090).
